Who Killed the Electric Car?

Posted on March 28, 2010 in School by Elyse

Normal car gas leads to global warming because the car releases CO2 and if we keep that up we will no longer have a world to live in which is not good because we have no where to go. People everywhere loved the EV1′s because they were easy to maintain and you could just simply plug it in to charge because it was electric and it didn’t cost you heaps like petrol does. Most people who had an EV1 wanted people to build a recharge station for the car so they could drive long distances at once with some stops on the way. But the adds to promote the EV1′s weren’t very intriguing so the company got people to go around advertising for them so they could sell the cars and start a smarter generation. The company soon changed their minds about the EV1 because the could make more money if they sold cars that take petrol. From what i heard in the movie the owners of the EV1′s never got their money back from buying the car. The company took the cars away, crushed them and put them in a junk yard were no one was meant to find them. Why did they destroy the cars… I think it’s because all the company cared about was money, money and money.

Roses and how they are like humans.

Posted on March 25, 2010 in School by Elyse

The beautiful roses you can find everywhere in gardens. They take awhile to grow but when they do they’re a site to see. The flower can come in many colours you just have to pick the one you like best and they will be a site to your eyes and others as well. The flowers have perfect petals all twining around each other. Their petals are soft and silk like.

They have spikes on the stem. If you poke them with too much pressure it hurts you because they’re sharp. You can pull the spikes off when you pull on them. But be careful not to rip the stem. The flower might die.

The rose can be eaten away by bugs. These bugs torture the plant by eating away the flower and leaves bit by bit. To the bugs the flower is food and they are the ones who get to eat their food and take as much as they like. The rose is like a model in many ways with the beautiful flower and the spikes that hurt you then the bugs come to destroy them.

Back to Berlin

Bruno’s mother and sister went back to Berlin but they didn’t like it without Bruno. His friends came to their house in Berlin and knocked on the door. Bruno’s sister answered the door, eyes red full of tears about to start crying again because she saw Bruno’s old friends all smiling and happy. Gretel didn’t want to tell them what had happen. She yelled out to mother. “Mum door!” you could hear her voice crack, then she ran up stairs crying and slammed her door shut.

The three boys wanted to know what was going on. “Hello boys, long time since I’ve seen you.” She looked the same as Gretel, red eyes and everything. “Why are you all crying, didn’t you want to come back to Berlin?” Asked Karl. “Any way where’s Bruno, we missed him so much. It wasn’t as good without him.” “Yes, it wasn’t.” Agreed Danial. “He, he, he.” Said Bruno’s mother starting to cry. “He’s dead. He ran away.” The three friends were in shock their eyes popping out of their heads. “We are so sorry. We better be off then.” Martin said in a sad tone.

The boys went on their way and didn’t go back. They also told their mothers what had happen to Bruno. They all wanted to find out what had happened to their best friend and where he went. But their mothers said that they didn’t know where they lived. The mothers asked Bruno’s mother and their answer was “We lived at the Out-With concentration camp.” So the parents knew that it was a dangerous place but one offered to go with the boys.

On the way to the house where they stayed, they saw a person full of nothingness sitting on the other side of the fence. In the same spot Bruno and Samuel sat and met every. So they stoped the taxi and asked if the driver would wait there for awhile. “Hi.” Greeted Karl’s mother. “Hello, I come here every day in memory of my brother Shmuel. Please don’t take me away.” Pleaded the boy. “What’s your name young man?” Asked Karl’s mother. “It’s John.” He said with a dull voice. “And what happen to your brother and why did he come here every day?” Questioned Karl’s mother because after all they came here to find all the answers. “Boys go for a walk and see if Bruno’s father is in the house and bring me back what you find in his office if he is not there.” Said Karl’s mother, so they wouldn’t hear anything john was about to say. “Ok mum we will be back in about an hour.” Answer Karl.

So the story began. “Well he came here every day because he met a boy from your side of the fence. He said his name started with a B or something. I can’t remember it was a year ago.” Explained John. “Ok, that’s a start. Well was his name Bruno?” Asked Karl’s mother. “Ummm….. Yes I think so, yes it was!” answered John. “What did him and Bruno do and where did they go?” Questioned Karl’s mother. “They talked for awhile and my brother told me that Bruno was going to come help look for our papa who disappeared.” Karl’s mother was in shock and she couldn’t ask anymore questions but John continued on. “Well one day he got some clothes from the Nazis and walked off to here… When he came back he had that strange boy with him and then they went hunting for papa. When they came back they got put into the march to the room and never came back out like all the others.” Explained John. “Who are the other mum?” asked Karl only hearing those words as they came back. “Umm, don’t worry any way what did you find? boys?” wondered Karl’s mother. “Well we found this on Bruno’s father’s desk and this letter on Bruno’s bed.” Answered Danial. “Ok, can I please have them?” Asked Karl’s mother and Martin handed them to her. She looked at the object. “This is a cross, never touch this again.” Now she read the letter to herself.

The letter wrote…

“Dear Bruno, were ever you are, I miss you and wished that I spent more time with you. I don’t know if you went on the other side of the fence or you ran away but I wish that you are the first person to read this letter which you are on your way home soon back to Berlin when you call home mother will come and get you straight away and never move again. I turned on the Nazis because God is meant to bring you luck and happiness but they’re probably going to take me away. I pray to God and Jesus that you make it home safe. I never realised how much I loved you until you disappeared. I’ll always love you son.

Love father.”

By the end of that letter, Karl’s mother was crying and told the boys to get in the car to leave when she thanked John for all his help. So off they went. “Thank you for waiting for us now to the train station please.” croak Karl’s mother. “Ok lady.” And the car started to move. When they got there, they got on the train without speaking. When they got back Karl’s mother dropped the boys off at Danial’s house and also told his mother what happened, when the boys played. After Danial’s mother knew, Karl and Martin went to Martin’s house so Karl’s mother could tell Martin’s mum what had happen, and asked them both to go to Bruno’s house and tell his mother what the truth was.

That next Monday morning the three mothers of the friends went to Bruno’s house and knocked on the door. “Hello girls, come in.” Greeted Bruno’s mother. “Hi, Inna look we have some bad news to tell you and we are sure about it.” “Ok’ I’m up for anything.” Bruno’s mother said happily for once. “Inna, Isabella is going to tell you something that you would like to know about your son. I am so sorry and we will comfort you please sit down with us.” Danial’s mother explained what they were going to tell her.

Karl’s mother started with what Bruno was doing on his walks. “Well, Bruno went adventuring and came along a boy on the other side of the fence. Now they got to the stage were Samuel the boy on the other side of the fence told him that his father got taken away and Bruno wanted to help so they planned it. I don’t know what time o when but I know is that the boy, Shmuel gave Bruno a prison costume and Bruno went with him under the fence. They went looking for Shmuel’s father then they got told to march by the Nazis and went into a room and never came back out.” Isabella started crying and so did everyone else. “Thankyou Isabella I really needed to know, now we can help the Jewish because they are nice to us and have done nothing to us so I am calling the Australians to come and save them and to destroy the Nazis!” Declared Inna. “We are with you.” Agreed Danial’s mother. It took months for them to plan everything. They went to Australia with their families to go see the army. They proved that Hitler was crazy and wanted to have the perfect race and to rule the world. When the Australians finally believed them because of Bruno’s story the army planned on attacking Germany and destroying everything in their path. But the Germans had a plan to run and hide when the Australians came to solve the problem or anybody else who found out the truth. “Thankyou so much I really appreciate all you have done for us. I now dislike the Nazis because they are doing the wrong thing by killing millions and my son.” Inna thanked them very much but inside she still felt sad about going against Germany.

On the day of the attack the army planes chose to go to the first camp where they were aware of which was the out-with concentration camp because Bruno’s mother, Inna told them about it and where it was so they could first save all the Jewish people who weren’t already killed by the Germans. On their attempt to save the Jews, the only person who escaped was Shmuel’s brother John because he was the only one sitting at the fence. He was taken to Australia to live in an orphan place.

So the Australians attacked but somehow the Germans knew someone was going to find out sooner or later. The Out-With camp was still running so they bombed it into pieces. That’s when all the other camps had found out that the Australians were attacking, they killed all the Jewish and ran away before they could come and destroy the Nazis. Hitler had already killed him and his wife.

This war was for the freedom of the Jewish from the Nazis but for most it was already too late to save them. When the war was over the Australians returned to their home to find that they are now learning a new religion of the God. John got adopted by Bruno’s mother who was great full that John told his story, Gretel soon liked John and they had each other when it came to mourning for their lost brothers who are now on heaven. John also made friends with Bruno’s old friends Martin, Danial and Karl. They never went back to Berlin because they enjoyed Australia too much.

Thankyou so much for what you have done for us Sir. I really appreciate it.” Inna said again and again. “Well, we better be off then come on Gretel and John we are going home.” Said mother. They got into the car and drove away into the dark sky. Every day on Bruno’s and Shmuel’s birthdays they wrote a letter saying how life is and how much they miss them.

The way the poor work in those sweat shops it insane with millions working in a small area and there is no aircon. The only aircon is where the bosses are, up stairs.  The work 24 hour shifts and sometimes even 36 hours! The only get payed under a dollar per day. How do they live if they are unable to buy as much food any more because it is getting more and more expensive each year.

Over two thirds of the world’s kids live in poverty wether it’s the way they are made to live because their poor or because of the type of people they live around. Most end up dieing when their poor because they starve or they could get bitten by a mosquito with a decease which makes them really sick.

The way most poor people live in Indonesia is in broken old not even call houses from what I saw places because they cant afford to even rent a house let alone they done have any hot water or a proper toilet to use. In some countries children have to work to so they can help earn money for their families. That’s why you can sponsor a child to give them an education to live and give them a head start in live.

Argyle Diamonds, What are they? Were do they come from? And why are they so expensive?

Thats what i am going to tell you about.

Well These diamonds are found unearthed in the rugged Kimberley region in the far north of Western Australia. The colours can come in exotic pink, Sparkling champagne, rich cognac and dazzling white. From the rare pink diamond to the classic white and natural champagnes, Argyle Diamonds are firing the world’s imagination. The Argyle Diamond Mine is the world’s biggest producer of natural diamonds and contributes approximately one-third of the world’s natural supply.

Diamonds are a girls best friend,They are the latest trend,

they are nonbreakable ,And lovable,

They can cost millions, but not billions,

you can buy fake ones, they don’t cost tones.

Pearls

Peals can also be found in the Kimberley region of North West Australia in Broome, during the mid 1950′s. In this small town, the world’s most wanted mother-of-pearl shell was sourced by the international market for its commercial use in button manufacture. If a pearl was found in the process it was considered a bonus.

Pretty and precious,

Every one is different,

All are found in the sea,

Rich wear them as jewellry,

Living the good live,

Sea side houses and fast cars.

Scrap Booking.

Posted on March 14, 2010 in Me,School by Elyse

Me

There are many different types of scrap booking. there is were you can make cards with pop outs and cards with decorations such as stickers, ribbon  and different coloured parts. you can also buy packs but you don’t have to follow the instructions if you want to be creative. at the shops you can buy border back grounds for photos so you could put the photos in a frame instead of having to make big ones and put them in a book. you can print of the photos at stores like The Good Guys, K-Mart, Big-W, target and places like that or you could print them at home but the picture might not be as good if you to go to the shops to get them done. What you have to do is go to K-Mart or some were like that and buy photo paper and make sure you buy the right size. Then go home and print away. you can buy the books/ albums at the same place you could find anything else in the craft section.  When you do your albums remember one thing stay on track of what you are doing and don’t do to much on the same subject because it tends to look boring.

In any type of scrap booking you can use lots of different materials such as stickers for decoration and you can get certain kits. With  decorations you can make your own flowers, borders and sets of things to match. you can use many different materials for your background Coloured cardboard and cardboard with patterns on them, felt, material, fly screen and velvet are just a few. Buy what ever you can find what you like and get creative,

My opinions on how to make a good scrap book are, Number one if you do less than two photos on a page you will end up with so many pages and it doesn’t look that good with only  one picture and don’t over crowd the page because you will have no room left to put decorations on or write where and what is happening in the photos. With the photos only do the one subject on the page and keep the album in the order. Try not to stick with the same decorations so try to use different packs for different pages. When you want to make your page perfect  you have to plan it and stand back and look at it. you also have to chose your colours wisely for instance pink and red don’t go but pink and green go.

Be careful not to stick to the same subject for more than one or two pages because it doesn’t look good because your doing the same thing over and over again. If you glue something down and you end up not liking it you can’t fix it so it’s wise to plan everything before you glue or stick it down, If you are having trouble you could look it up on google images. AS you saw I put a picture on the page to maybe get you inspired and have a go.

To get started you can find craft in most shops like the one I mentioned, So enjoy!

I move:

That today we all honour the english  peoples of this land. My people are the oldest culture in human history.

We reflect on their past mistreatment.

We reflect on what we did and how we treated those who were different- this was an untold chapter in our history.

The time has come…. to regret all the wrong we have do to those how are no different inside. We want to move on into a new century.

We have sorrow for the children we stole from you and tried to make them forget their lives with their parents. We put all of you threw torture and grief.

We have sorrow  for all the families we imprisoned in white ghettos  to live there lives in fear everyday and never being able to disagree with my generation.

For the family, children and babies we took away from you and caused you pain and sadness, We say sorry.

for the stolen lives, jobs and homes that you lived your lives in before we came, We say sorry.

And for my people taking away your identity and culture that we didn’t want, We say sorry.

Me and my hobby of making jewelery.

Posted on March 6, 2010 in Me by Elyse

I like to make jewelery. I make many different things like necklaces, bracelets, earrings and sometimes even key chains. I personal like making earrings. Sometimes I got to the shops and buy bead sets so I can tell if the beads match and if I see something I like in the shops and I create something like that. I can create lots of different things it can depend on how I feel and what I am into. On the other hand you can do what ever you wish with making jewelery. I recommend this hobby mostly for girls because I think that boys would like soccer better. But thats just what i say.

Blood Diamonds.

Diamonds Credit: Christoph Saalfeld.

Blood Diamonds is all about a group of people who think it’s  alright to grossly abuse human rights, often murdering and  enslaving the local populations to mine the diamonds in war torn African countries by rebels to fund their conflict.  they in slave these  innocent people and they are doing so to get money and when the slaves have done something wrong they kill them like it’s nothing  to kill someone just like the Nazis. I think that this is not the right thing to be doing the people who what the Diamonds should get down on their knees and mine the Diamonds themselves.
